What If?

What if I was not human, Just an animal convinced to be a person
Living amongst you all, barking yet thinking I’m making words

What if my hopes have been falsified?
Maybe I have been living a fake life,
Being lied to just to keep staying alive?
On hopes that ain't real.

What if crime wasn't crime?
That the police justified their use of guns by being the police?
just to oppress.

What if things aren't really the way you perceived them to be.
What if babies cried to warn you of imminent danger?
...but then you plug in their pacifier to keep them quiet.

What if you were just a clone?
The real you lived thousands of years ago
You are here making serious reasoning meanwhile it doesn't really matter.

What if we didn't need to work to get paid?
We are just being slave-driven to achieve some devil's plan.

What if?

What if we lived forever?
Would that be enough time to do right?
Would there then be enough time to spend with family?
Or would it be just too much.

What if all parents really did take the first positions while in school.
Would that mean I am nothing like my dad?
Coz I never came first in my class

What if 365 days never really makes a year.
That it was meant to be 90 days.
...and what if 24 hours wasn't a day either
Think of how old you would have become by now.

What if?

What if Eve never ate the apple and didn't give to Adam to eat.
What would it have been by now?

What if they really ate the apple and made away with the seed to plant it.
What would have been the name of the fruit; Apple? Mango? Passion fruit?
Just saying.

What if doing good is bad?
That bad guys get to live longer so they could have the chance to be good
While good guys die coz they are too good.

What if our lives and everything around us are just our imaginations?
That we see and create images the way we want them to be.
It’s just all in our minds?

What if I was just writing this to keep you glued to your screen?
To make you think a little bit outside your box for about a minute and the half.
Making you think of what you wanted to be different.

Now you are thinking of who I am and what's wrong with me.
Ok, now you are smiling. Confused and thinking I'm crazy.

What if you were right?

Nothingness

there are times when you stay in your state of nothingness
thinking less of yourself thinking of your carelessness
those are moments your world stops to spin
then your head begins the spin

like an arse pain from the pin
you begin to grow lean
haunted by thoughts or broken dreams.
scenerios of scary scenes,
becomes the life for your very being

And again the nothingness deludes your awareness.
yet in vain you struggle till u r breathless.

the depth of the shallow mind isn't far fetched.
the voice of the dumb can not still be heard by the very attentive deaf.

you read in-between the lines,
you stared with very open eyes.
there was a lot...
yet you see not

yet you see not.

Darkness so bright it could be seen from the distance.
in thick confusion you still stand.

your struggle continues
your opinion devalues
your are left without clues.

Probes

It’s about the crimes and the evils
It’s about the government and its people

It’s the corruption and injustice
The judiciary and court cases

The looters and the probes
The committees of the probes

The Government says "it has prospects"
yes, but prospects ain't success...Sir!
We have the "can-do spirit"
Intentions are good but the spirit can only intend...
rather pretend.

This Government has more panels than the panel-beater
More probes than the crime
More crimes than its people.
More people than their Reps.

Yet we sit and watch
we sit and expect change
we cry in our church
we expect God to rearrange?

Probes were for resolutions
rather we get recommendations and not implementations
we spend funds to probe
then we turn around to probe the funds?

I love Nigeria, but I don't like Nigeria

Tired of wishing for the best
Tired of keeping grudge in my chest
Now I must rest.

Rest assured that I still have hope
even as events unfold like the opera's soap

Nails in the fence

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.

The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all.

He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.

The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.

The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, 'You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. But It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound will still be there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.

Remember that friends are very rare jewels indeed.
They make you smile and encourage you to succeed; They lend an ear, they share words of praise and they always want to open their hearts to us.

Cheers.

Words

this is one of those days words begin to make sense
days when words begin to make the guilty tense

the depth of words can not be reached
the laws of words can not be breached.

words and ears tag hand in hand
brain and words ride side by side

a word is enough for the wise...
but the wise always have words.
words...
the wise always have words.

but the fool do have words
a word IS enough for the fool as well
he speaks and you know he is a fool.
a word WAS enough for the fool.

Words tell tales
the words of the wise man have tails.

words make and words unmake.
what grows a boy to a man? Not food but words.

word is free...but your words are costly.

freedom of information, freedom of speech.
when speech is carefree, then there will be war of words
worlds at war...world wars.

your words are you in the flesh
your words make doom or make fresh

listen carefully when you can
especially when things don't go as planned
the words of a friend keeps hope alive
the words of love soothes the soul.

words ignites rage, words ignite fear
hope, gloom, hatred and disgust

effects of words outlive life.
the effects of life was caused by words

...my words were enough for the wise.

Tears in the Sky

Some call it the rain,
others think it's insane
when days comes and goes in vain
but your crops did gain

Your party dress soaked,
your corn field grows.
Damages untold...
Lands erode

Farmers rejoice
children enjoy the noise
Cities cry
when they see the very dark sky

The gains and the pains of the rain
flows in the same vein.
as we can't detain
the pain...from the gain

UnDead

Silent screams are whispered in the dark places,
faded dreams never come up on real stages.

The sun has lost its burn, the flute just lost its song.
Where did we get it all wrong, we sold our rights for cow's dung.

6000mega watts? 2years later, we're still chilling in the dark.
Coruption was left unchecked, now its weird to see things go right.

I wish we could do right,
wish we could sleep at night.
Yes, i have tried waking up, but i wasn't sleeping.

A dying scream makes no sound. Yet i'm calling out to all i've ever known.

Ur voice should be heard.
